Thanks to the landscape, waterways and terrain, there is an abundance of mule deer, whitetail, and turkey. The turkeys are primarily Merriam’s, but a few Rio Grande birds are seen on occasion. Deer season usually runs the second full week in November and lasts from Saturday through the following Sunday. There are two turkey seasons, spring and fall. The spring turkey shotgun season typically lasts for about three weeks and the fall season can run for three months.
